TIGER Family August Memo

“School bells are ringing loud and clear; vacation’s over, school is here.” ― Winifred C. Marshall

Greetings BJM Community,

Welcome to the start of an exciting new school year! We are thrilled to partner with you as we continue to grow together as a strong and connected school community rooted in Tiger Pride.

At the heart of everything we do are our TIGER values—Tenacious, Inclusive, Grateful, Empowered, and Respectful. These core principles guide how we learn, lead, and show up for one another every day. As we open our doors this year, we are committed to cultivating a school culture where every scholar feels safe to be their authentic self and is supported in becoming the best version of their academic and personal self.

This year, our focus is on fostering a rigorous academic and positive behavioral culture. We believe that when high expectations are paired with high support, scholars rise. Every classroom, hallway, and community space will reflect the power of our TIGER values, and we will continue to celebrate effort, growth, and achievement.

We expect you to join us in this journey. Together, as a team—school, home, and community—we can ensure our scholars thrive, feel seen, and are positioned for lasting success.

Thank you for your continued partnership and trust. We are proud to be on this journey with you and look forward to a year filled with learning, laughter, and Tiger Pride.

Attendance Expectations: Every Minute Matters

As we begin the school year, we want to emphasize the importance of being on time and present every day. Consistent attendance is a key ingredient in helping our scholars thrive both academically and socially.

Our school day is just six hours, and we want to maximize every moment with our scholars. Being on time and present is a habit—one that helps build strong routines, fosters responsibility, and sets the tone for success now and in the future.

This year, we will be monitoring attendance closely as a source of data to help us cultivate a culture where time is valued and learning is prioritized. We will also be celebrating our attendance successes as a community—more details to come!

Let’s work together to make sure every scholar knows that their time, presence, and learning matter. We thank you in advance for your partnership in making strong attendance a shared priority. Tiger Pride!
