Enfield Newsletter

The Enfield Newsletter is Enfield Elementary’s family newsletter, sharing updates, news, and moments of joy from across our school community!

A Message from Principal Anderson

I have been overjoyed to begin the process of meeting students and staff. Last week, I visited Project Innovation and met a number of Enfield students and staff members. I also stopped by the Enfield Community Center where I continued to hear a clear and consistent message: Enfield is a special place. I can’t wait to meet more of the community in the coming weeks.

Inside this newsletter, you’ll find details about our upcoming Playground Nights, including dates and times. All are welcome!

  • August 11 (includes Kindergarten Night)

Construction Updates

Asbestos abatement on the exterior of the building is nearly complete. After some much-needed infrastructure work, the crew will begin updating the front entrance with new panels, fresh lettering, and a welcoming awning.

Construction will continue beyond the start of the school year, but I’ll be working closely with the project manager to ensure minimal disruption to teaching and learning, and most importantly, that our campus remains safe and accessible for all.

New Law: Cell Phones and Wearable Devices

Beginning August 1, 2025, Governor Hochul’s bell-to-bell ban on personal internet-enabled devices—like cell phones and smartwatches—goes into effect in all New York State schools. This means students will not be permitted to use these devices at any time during the school day.

A group of Enfield staff members is meeting over the summer to design implementation plans that make sense for our school community. Stay tuned for more communication as we roll this out thoughtfully and with clarity.
