Dear Families,
What a gorgeous few weeks of weather we have had to start off the school year. Here at Enfield, students have been outside learning in our orchard, raised beds, and pollinator space, as well as on field trips around the community. Updates around the building continue as the paneling above the entrance in the bus loop is starting to be put up. We are so happy to see our community shining inside and out! Currently, the gymnasium is full of gymnastics equipment and The Great Escape unit is underway. I raced a few students up the rope ladders last week!
Enfield Free Grocery
Enfield Free Grocery is nearly up and running again. We are proud to offer this service to our community. Be on the lookout for information next week about how to order and pick up food from the Welcome Center.

The Great Escape

Student Showcase
This year we’re also trying a new twist on Curriculum Night. Instead of a traditional presentation, families will be invited to a Student Showcase! You’ll still receive an easy-to-read handout of the year’s curriculum, but the highlight will be students sharing their own work with you. Teachers will help students prepare so they are ready to explain what they made and what they learned. We are so excited to give students this authentic opportunity to share their learning with pride. The event is now scheduled for Wednesday, October 15 from 6-7pm.
Evacuation Drills
We have had three so far this year and students have done a great job moving quickly and quietly and staying with their class. We will have two more drills next week. In the next month we will practice a lockdown. During a lockdown, students practice staying quiet in their classroom with the doors locked and out of sight from people in the hallway. Teachers will practice in their classrooms before the drill and at the time of the drill I will come over the loudspeaker to let everyone in the building know that we are just practicing. Please let us know if you have any feedback.
Safe Schools
Thank you also for supporting us with drop-off protocols. Other than Pre-K parents, all families should drop students off at the front doors. This helps us keep our school safe and ensures a smooth start to the day.
Friday Celebration
Finally, we’re thrilled to bring back our Friday Celebration! Once a month, from 8:05–8:25, one grade level will share their learning, and families will be invited to join when it’s their child’s turn. We’ll let you know which grade is presenting each month so you can celebrate with us.
